Seoul promenade
Hong Kong

In the master layout plan, strong emphasis has been made on the integration and interaction between various user group and means of movement.  The major access point to the site on ground are the Underground station as well as the cycling path along the waterfront.  Like fountains in the upstream of a river, these two nodes exert human flow into the promenade.  An overhead structure in the form of a rippling surface is proposed to capture the outflow of visitors.

There are two major pedestrian decks channeling out the visitors to the new terminal through the promenade park.  Ribbons of elevated bicycle trail, jogging path and footpaths are integrated into the master plan to enhance the fluidity of space and to provide point of vistas on different eye levels.  The interesting contrast of the open green space and the urban fabric nearby could be appreciated, experienced and celebrated along these pathways.
