HKSZ biennale 2019 – The Momentum

Architecture is a signifier of the consequences of reality, the reality articulated by affordances and qualities. The Momentum signifies the opposites of qualities coexistent or antagonistic, static or dynamic, opaque or transparent, hegemonic or universal, suppressive or resistive, adherent or segregated under the social political context of Hong Kong, where diversity has implicitly diminished into binary linear ideologies. The fuzziness and energy within depict the ambiguity and opportunity in the discourse of HK SZ relationship, while 200 tiny glazed units bounded by 1 huge unit express the social hierarchy of the era. The inflatable, or the freedom, may eventually shrink.
